Calaveras County is home to the Calaveras Big Trees (a preserve of Giant Sequoia trees) and place where Mark Twain set his famous story, “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County”. Since 1993, Calaveras County has been the home of the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance at the Ironstone winery. The County is full of “Gold Rush” towns and history.
